"There is a power that comes to women when they give birth. They don’t ask for it, it simply invades them. Accumulates like clouds on the horizon and passes through, carrying the child with it."
Hey, mama!
Welcome to Clover & Bloom Birth!
I’m Kristen Shorey—a Student Midwife, Birth Doula, and Photographer serving families in Greenville, South Carolina. Supporting women during one of life’s most sacred and transformative experiences is an honor I hold close to my heart. There’s something truly magical about watching a woman tap into her inner wisdom and bring her baby into the world with strength and grace.
I believe birth unfolds best when it’s left untouched. Supported with love, trust, and respect—when a mother is surrounded by people who believe in her and hold space for her journey. My deepest goal is to help you build unwavering trust in your body and mind so that you step into birth feeling confident, prepared, and excited. You deserve to own every part of your experience—to make choices rooted in knowledge and intuition, not fear.
Birth is not just about welcoming a baby. It’s the beginning of a new chapter, the birth of a mother, a family, and a story that will stay with you forever. And you are the hero of that story—never forget that.
It’s a privilege to be invited into your journey. Together, we’ll create a birthing experience filled with empowerment, compassion, and love. Let’s honor the wonder of birth together.

*Currently only taking Photography clients while I'm attending births as a LicensedMidwife Apprentice with Barefoot Birth*
Why Birth Photography?
Because these are the days you’ll want to remember
Birth is big. It’s messy. It’s intense. It’s full of things you didn’t plan for—and somehow still exactly what you needed. And honestly? A lot of it becomes a blur.
That’s where I come in. I document the story as it unfolds—the strength, the softness, the way your partner holds your hand, the moment your baby is finally here. The stuff that you’ll want to revisit one day when your kid is asking how it all went down.
It’s not about being picture-perfect. It’s about being present. And having something real to look back on.

why I do this...

Because birth deserves to be remembered
I fell in love with birth before I ever picked up a camera. The strength of it. The wildness. The softness. The way it changes people forever.
Photography lets me preserve those moments—not just for you, but for your child one day. The first chapter of their story, through your eyes.
I do this work because I believe your birth matters. And how you feel about it matters too. And sometimes, a photograph helps you see just how powerful you really were.
My approach
Calm energy. A deep respect for your space.
Birth is sacred. It’s also unpredictable. And a little chaotic. I show up with no expectations, a couple snacks, a backup battery, and a whole lot of reverence.
I stay quiet. I follow your lead. I read the room. My goal is to blend into the background while you stay in your zone. No questions, no poses, no getting in anyone’s way. Just honest, documentary-style photography that captures the real stuff.
You won’t even notice I’m there—until you see the photos later and realize how much you missed (in the best way).
